Brads Morning Walks

This is right by our house and every morning during his weekend he takes Jackson there to run around. Last weekend, we watched a friends German Shepard and so Brad brought her along and they had a blast. The water is Prosser Lake... as you can tell we have barely any water but winter should change that.

Pandora

What a great invention. And can I say obsessed! Brad thinks its hilarious that I dance by myself when no one is home. But, what can I say when you are in the moment, why not! Brads favorite thing is to tease me that I listen to rap while I'm cleaning and that I know all the words to the old school stuff. His other most favorite thing is to come in quietly so I don't hear him so he can catch me in the middle of rapping or dancing. It probably is pretty funny to come home to you wife thinking she is gangster :)

If you haven't tried it.. YOU MUST.

Wood

Since we've moved in Brad has had this urgency about getting our wood pile complete before winter is here. Well, he has succeeded. There is wood stashed everywhere possible at our house. He now thinks he might have gone overboard.. which I've been saying for two weeks now. Better more than not enough, right? He hasn't chopped the wood yet that is on the front porch because we still have two piles of wood chipped with no designated area. Thank goodness he succeeded.

Wedding, Nephews and General Conference

Last weekend Brad and I drove home for General Conference and to attend a friends wedding. The twins have grown so much and have mastered walking. Brad loves this stage in their life because they are more interactive and can be mobile. Below, is the four of us taking a break and relaxing. Nicholas is a little man.. seriously. When I was talking with him he just looked and acted more mature this time than he has before and he is only FOUR! I love that kid! And baby Jedi, what a kick in the pants he is. We were all eating crepes while the kids were crawling under the table. For some reason baby Jedi started crying and was starting throw a fit so Rachel picks him up and the look he gave us all once he was at our level.. was PRICELESS! We all started laughing because he won and knew it. Rachel uploaded some pics to my parents blog of him the other day everyone has to look at them.

Busy, busy, busy

Sometimes I recognize that our life is moving at a comfortable pace. Than, a week later, we decide we'd like to move back to Truckee and start looking for a place. Once again, a week later, but in the midst of both Brad and I working 40 plus a week we decide we found the house and need to pack to be moved in the upcoming Tuesday. Of course, it gets done but not after long days and sleepless nights.

This was our life only a few weeks ago.

And still our house isn't completely decorated or unpacked. The decorating dilemma is because upon moving in we noticed they tried to touch up the pain and instead of using the correct color they used a color a few shades lighter. So, on top of the stress of moving in and getting settled we have had to run around finding colors, getting them to the rental company, having them approved, than getting estimates on the job. (Let me add all between two hours everyday where I'm still at home before leaving to work and stores are open.) Now, we are waiting for the O-K so we can invite more people into our chaotic house for 3 to 4 days.

This is just a glimpse of what we have been doing lately with the house.

Oh, and yesterday we got the news that Brad is going to five 10s starting Monday. This schedule usually doesn't start till the week before Thanksgiving. But, we both were thinking they might start the winter schedule soon especially with cold weather here and surprise snow once and a while.

Sorry, no pictures of the new place yet maybe after next week when the house is painted and there are decorations on the walls.

Labor Day

Before I tell you about our Labor Day weekend I have to tell you about a few different things. First, we decided to move back to Truckee and we found a house after a few weeks of searching. Its three bedrooms two full baths and has an amazing new deck. Our move in date is September 15th.. very soon! So, the next few weeks are going to be pretty intense with both of our full time jobs and moving on the weekends.

Because I knew we'd be moving I decided perfect time to FINALLY re-do our room. Since we've been married we've been sleeping on Brads bed which is a queen with sheets and a white cover, nothing fantsy. But, now that we are moving we've (more me) splurged and bought all new sheets, duvet and this week a Cal King Bed. Both of us are excited to move to our new place but super stoked for all our new bedding and bed.

The picture below are of my two favorite kitchen items at the moment. The cheese grater.. a MUST for any kitchen and a spoon plate purchased from Rachel (Brads cousins wife) friend in Chico. She has great things... check it out HERE. She can customize anything.. change colors or designs so keep that in mind when look at her glass.

Labor Day this year was at the Sicke Compound.. which is always a blast. Below is a pick of the three boy cousins. Brad, Will and JD.

Stocking our Freezer

Our freezer is never full since neither Brad or I eat pre packaged meals so the only contents you are always guaranteed to find is bulk bacon, frozen herbs, bread, ice and chicken. I go grocery shopping on a weekly basis and make dinner every night or every other night which has worked for us except on occasions where either one of us work late or I'm out of town. Although, this has worked for us in the past the incidents where I'm left scrambling to fix something decent after having a wrench (ie emergency room visits) thrown in our life made me realize that stocking our freezer with meals that I've pre made wouldn't hurt. My boss Emily has tons of cook books and we are always sharing new recipes after we try them ourselves with each other.. so obviously, I asked her for any ideas and she actually had a book geared toward this exact thing (click here to view book). I've gone through the book and picked my favorite recipes and now starting this week I'll prepare one recipe from the book a week and make double the amount to put in the freezer. This way it will be done gradually with us being able to taste each recipe. Our first freezer meal will be Chicken Cacciatori and for Brad in the morning Breakfast Burritos.
